All Saints Sunday – 11/5

Each year the church remembers with thanksgiving all those baptized children of God who lived faithfully but now are at rest in the Lord. We especially remember members of Emmanuel who have died since the last All Saints Sunday in 2016.

All Saints Day is also an opportunity to remember and give thanks for all the faithful who have lived at any time and place. During the worship service you will be invited to come forward and light a candle and place it in the front of the church as a shining memorial to a loved one who is at rest. The multiple burning candles remind us of the deep spiritual connection between the Church Triumphant and the Church Militant. We are part of a communion of saints that spans across distance and time. We are all members of one Body of Jesus Christ, and though death may separate us here on earth, we are joined with all the saints through the grace of our Savior Jesus Christ.
