Emmanuel Lutheran Church is a community of Lutheran Christians located in the historic and beautiful West End of Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
We are a congregation of the Lower Susquehanna Synod and a companion congregation with Mbalizi Lutheran Church in Mbeya, Tanzania, a congregation of the Konde Diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania.
Our congregation has been here since 1888, serving Christ and the community for over a hundred and twenty-five years.
Worship Service time: Sunday Mornings at 10:30 a.m.
Holy Communion is served every Sunday Morning.
Christian Education
Adult Class is held Sunday mornings from 9:15 to 10:15 in the Fireside Room. The coffee is hot and there is something new to learn.
January 1: Adult class will not be meeting.
January 8 through February 12 Keith Frey will lead the 6-week video-based series Sermon on the Mount: A Beginner’s Guide to the Kingdom of Heaven by Amy-Jill Levine who takes a detailed and colorful overview of Matthew 5-7. Through Amy-Jill’s engaging method of biblical interpretation, participants will come away with a solid understanding of the Sermon on the Mount in its historical and theological context.
